PubMinder Support

Last updated: August 2026

PubMinder is an on-device research-paper reader for iPhone and iPad. It pulls the latest preprints and journal articles from bioRxiv, medRxiv, arXiv, and PubMed, then summarizes each abstract using on-device Apple Intelligence (or your own Groq key), and lets you save, search, and organize a personal library that works offline.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why don't I see AI summaries on some papers?

AI summaries are generated on-device by Apple Intelligence, which requires a compatible device (iPhone 15 Pro or later, or an iPad/Mac with an M-series chip), iOS/iPadOS 26 or later, and Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri. On unsupported devices, or if you prefer a cloud model, add a free Groq API key in PubMinder's Settings tab. When neither is available, each paper shows its original abstract so your feed is never empty.

How do I get papers to show up?

Open the Settings tab, choose one or more preprint subjects (or add a PubMed keyword search), then pull down to refresh on the Summary tab.

What does the one-time Pro purchase unlock?

The free version includes on-device AI summaries, one preprint subject, PubMed search, and the full saved library with search and sorting. Pro is a single one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited preprint subjects, the daily digest notification, and additional PubMed convenience.

I bought Pro but it isn't active on my device.

Open the Settings tab and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. Purchases restore free of charge on all your devices.

Where can I get a Groq API key?

Groq offers free API keys at console.groq.com. Paste the key into PubMinder's Settings tab; it's stored encrypted in the iOS Keychain and is only ever sent to Groq to generate summaries.

Is my data private?

PubMinder collects no personal data and requires no account. Everything you save stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
